2010 Special Election Information
The Town of Gilbert will hold a Special Election on Tuesday, May 18, 2010 to refer to voters a question related to transaction privilege tax (local sales tax).
Voter Registration
To vote in the Special Election, residents must be registered with Maricopa County Elections by April 19, 2010.
Voter registration forms are available at the following locations:
· Gilbert Municipal Center, 50 East Civic Center Drive, Gilbert, Arizona
· Southeast Regional Library, 775 North Greenfield Road, Gilbert, ArizonaForms may also be obtained from Maricopa County Recorder at http://recorder.maricopa.gov/web/regform.aspx.
Early Voting, By Mail
Registered voters may request a ballot by mail, by phone, or by linking to the Maricopa County Elections website.
Phone requests for ballots may be made by contacting the Clerk’s Office (480) 503-6871 or Maricopa County Elections at (602) 506-1511. Persons requesting a ballot over the phone need to provide their name and address, date of birth, and voter identification number (if available).
Electronic requests may be made through the Maricopa County Recorder at https://recorder.maricopa.gov/earlyvoteballotnet/evbrequest.aspx.
Permanent Early Voting List
Registered voters that are currently on the Permanent Early Voting Listing automatically receive a ballot by mail for all elections in which they are eligible to vote. If you are not currently on the Permanent Early Voting list you can sign up to be placed on the list at: https://recorder.maricopa.gov/earlyvoteballotnet/permanentevlist.aspx.
Early Voting, In Person
Persons who wish to cast an early ballot may do so at the Gilbert Municipal Center, 50 East Civic Center Drive, Gilbert, Arizona, beginning April 22, 2010 and ending May 14, 2010. Early ballots may be cast Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
Early ballots may also be cast at the Gilbert Municipal Center on Saturday, May 8, 2010 between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.
Election Day Information
Polls will be open on Election Day, May 18, 2010 from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Persons in line at 7:00 p.m. will be permitted to cast a ballot. Polling locations will be printed on your sample ballot.
