The main switchboard is located at the Gilbert Municipal Center, 50 East Civic Center Drive, 2nd Floor, (480) 503-6871. Staff provides general information and assists in identifying the appropriate individual and/or Town department to assist the public.
The Mayor and Council have established a variety of boards and commissions. The Boards and Commission menu page provides an outline of each group, as well as links to agendas.
The Clerk’s office provides administrative support to the Council in the recruitment of board and commission members. Current board and commission openings are published on Gilbert Cable Channel 11, in local newspapers, and on this website. Application information for Boards and Commissions is posted on the Gilbert Home Page when positions are available.

Regular Meetings are held bi-weekly on Tuesday evenings at 7:00 p.m., unless posted otherwise. Council meetings are held in the Council Chambers located at the Gilbert Municipal Center, 50 East Civic Center Drive, Gilbert, Arizona.
The Town Clerk’s office coordinates scheduling agenda items, prepares the agenda, and produces a Council packet containing staff reports and related documents. A Council packet is generally available the Friday prior to the meeting. Council packets may be viewed at the Town Clerk’s Office, Gilbert Municipal Center, 50 North Civic Center Drive, Gilbert, or Southeast Regional Library, 775 North Greenfield Road, Gilbert, during normal business hours. Council agendas may be accessed on the website.
Town records are considered public records, unless protected by law, and may be viewed and/or reproduced as permitted by law. The Clerk's office maintains many vital and permanent records including legislative records (minutes, ordinances, and resolutions) and a variety of other public records. Police and Court records must be obtained from the respective department and special forms may be required.
Records may be requested by submitting a Public Record Reproduction Request. There is no charge to view records.
The Clerk's office can assist in directing you to the appropriate department or outside agency from which to obtain records.
Public notices and meeting agendas are posted in compliance with the Open Meeting Law. Notices and/or agendas are posted a minimum of 24 hours prior to a meeting. Gilbert’s official posting locations are:
- Gilbert Municipal Center, 50 North Civic Center Drive, Gilbert;
- Heritage Annex, 119 North Gilbert Road, Gilbert; and
- Southeast Regional Library, 775 North Greenfield Road, Gilbert; and
Perry Branch Library, 1965 East Queen Creek Road.
As a convenience to the public, public notices are placed on this Town website. A summary of the Council Agenda and certain notices may be found on Gilbert Cable Channel 11.
Election Dates
Regularly scheduled elections are held in the spring of odd numbered years. A Primary Election is held on the second Tuesday in March; a General Election is held on the third Tuesday, in May. The Mayor and Council serve at-large, representing all citizens. Gilbert municipal elections are non-partisan.The Council, or under certain circumstances the Clerk, may call special elections when needed in accordance with State Law. Gilbert elections are conducted in accordance with the Arizona Revised Statutes, Titles 16 and 19, and the Code of Gilbert, Chapter 26.
Registered Gilbert voters may sign initiative, referendum, or recall petitions being circulated in the community.
Residents may remove their signature from an initiative, referendum, or recall petition filed with the Town Clerk in accordance with State law by a certain date. If you signed a petition and wish to remove your signature complete an Affidavit of Signature Withdrawal Petition Form in .pdf format.
Political committees must file a Statement of Organization and file Campaign Finance Reports with the Clerk in accordance with the Arizona Revised Statutes, Title 16, Chapter 6, Campaign Contributions and Expenses. The following forms are available on this website.

Gilbert has two licensed cable television providers. Should you experience cable television problems or issue, please contact your cable provider directly.
The Clerk serves as a liaison with the cable providers and may be contacted if problems are not resolved with the cable television provider.
