Congress of Neighborhoods Planning Committee - The purpose of the Congress of Neighborhoods Planning Committee is to bring residents and neighborhoods together to address common issues in order to build a community of excellence.
Design Review Board - The Design Review Board reviews many aspects of a proposed development, including site planning, landscaping, building design and signage. The design review process ensures that projects meet Town standards, are attractive and in harmony with their surroundings. Generally, professionals in architectural design, development, real estate and related fields are sought on to serve on the Design Review Board.
Economic Development Advisory Board - The Economic Development Advisory Board promotes the Gilbert economy, diversifies and stabilizes the economic base, develops new employment opportunities for citizens and encourages all forms of economic development that benefits the Town. The Board also makes economic development recommendations to the Town Council and promotes the Gilbert economy to domestic and international businesses.
Environmental Programs Task Force -
Fire Public Safety Retirement System Local Pension Board - The Fire Public Safety Retirement System Local Pension Board is responsible for educating members and applying Arizona Statutes in determining eligibility for benefits.
Gilbert Education Access Governing Board - The Gilbert Education Access Governing Board manages the educational access channel, reserved by the cable television operator licensed to the Town of Gilbert. Membership consists of representatives from local schools, colleges, universities, and the Town.
Human Relations, Culture and Arts Promotion -
Industrial Development Authority - The Industrial Development Authority is a public corporation, incorporated to recommend to Council projects the Town should endorse for tax-exempt, low interest bond financing made available by Federal law for certain eligible construction projects. State and Federal laws restrict the types and cost of projects the Authority may finance. Members must reside within the Town limits and be qualified electors.
Parks, Recreation, and Library Services Advisory Board - The Parks, Recreation and Library Services Advisory Board strives to ensure that citizens of every segment of the Town have opportunities to enjoy broad, satisfying leisure experiences. The Board's recommendations may encompass programming of public improvements and land acquisitions, capital projects programs, and programs and regulations relating to park and recreation areas. Members must reside within the Gilbert Planning Area.
Planning Commission - The Planning Commission, consisting of seven members and one alternate, provides recommendations to the Town Council on land use actions, or, in certain circumstances, makes the final decision on pending requests. The Planning Commission also acts as the Board of Adjustment for the Town.
Police Public Safety Retirement System Local Pension Board - The Police Public Safety Retirement System Local Pension Board is responsible for educating members and applying Arizona Statutes in determining eligibility for benefits.
Redevelopment Commission - The Redevelopment Commission advises the Town Council on matters related to the redevelopment area in downtown Gilbert. Members consider new proposals for development, monitor current projects and implement the Redevelopment Plan.
Town of Gilbert, Arizona Public Facilities Municipal Property Corporation - The Gilbert, Arizona Public Facilities Municipal Property Corporation is charged with developing and recommending long-term financing programs to pay for new essential public buildings.
Town of Gilbert, Arizona Self-Insured Trust Fund for Health Insurance Benefits - The Trust is responsible for receipt and disbursement of funds for Self-Insured Health Insurance Benefits.
Town of Gilbert, Arizona Water Resources Municipal Property Corporation - The Gilbert, Arizona Water Resources Municipal Property Corporation operates as a non-profit corporation solely and exclusively in the interest of the Town of Gilbert. The principal objective of the Corporation is to assist the Town in acquiring land and constructing improvements by the Town for municipal uses. Members must reside within the Town limits.
Utilities Board - The board was created for the purpose of managing and operating the utility operations of the Town including water, wastewater, street lights, electric and other authorized utility functions in compliance with applicable law. The membership of this board is limited to designated employees and a Council appointee.
